        Yeah, Appalachian State University does provide scholarships based on merit. Here are some of them:

        Wilson Scholars Program
        Total Worth: full institutional costs (tuition, fees, room and board, book rental), including out-of-state fees, as well as an annual $2,500 Experiential scholarship
        Eligibility: full institutional costs (tuition, fees, room and board, book rental), including out-of-state fees, as well as an annual $2,500 Experiential scholarship
        Minimum Criteria: excellent academic records, a demonstrated history of service and leadership
        Requirement for maintenance: based upon an acceptable grade point average
        Separate application needed: No

        Chancellor’s Scholar
        Total Worth: Full institutional costs for eight semesters, which include: tuition, fees, book rental, and room and board
        Eligibility: Full institutional costs for eight semesters, which include: tuition, fees, book rental, and room and board
        Minimum Criteria: A background of superior academic ability based on active, involved learning; competitive SAT (ACT) scores
        Requirement for maintenance: a maintained 3.45 academic average

        Academic Excellence Scholarship
        Total Worth: $10,000 over four years
        Eligibility: $10,000 over four years
        Minimum Criteria: average high school GPA of 4.39, an average SAT of 1292 and an average ACT score of 29
        Requirement for maintenance: a 3.0 cumulative GPA
