Overview

Established in 1982, CATC DESIGN SCHOOL (previously known as Commercial Arts Training College) is now one of Australia’s largest private vocational design schools with courses available in the fields of graphic design, interior design, and photography.

CATC Design School is a recognised Vocational Education Provider. It is a private Registered Training Organization (RTO) with campuses in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, all specifically designed as studio spaces (as opposed to classrooms).

The school’s main focus in making people ready for jobs of designer and photographer through practice and experiments rather than imparting theoretical education.

Most CATC courses come under Vocational Education and Training (VET) which is hands-on, skills-based and industry-focussed. Vocational training has competency-based assessments instead of grades. So just like in the real world, you’ll get practical feedback on your ideas, to learn and improve.

Everyone’s needs are different, so study at CATC is tailored to fit different schedules: part-time, full-time, on-campus or online. Based on the belief that success can be measured in many ways, the school offers a number of different awards to recognise and celebrate the students’ talents.

Its average annual cost of tuition is 21,022. A minimum 5.5 in IELTS is necessary for international students in order to get admission in the school.
