Tocal College is a heritage-listed agricultural college at 815 Tocal Road, Tocal, City of Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by Phillip Cox and Ian McKay and built from 1963 to 1965. It is also known as Tocal College – C.B. Alexander Campus. The property is owned by the C. B. Alexander Foundation. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 17 April 2013. Moreover, Tocal College is part of NSW Department of Primary Industries, under NSW Department of Industry. Tocal College has two campuses, the main one at Tocal in the Hunter Valley and the other at Yanco in the Riverina region. Tocal campus is a working 2200 hectare farm with large commercial enterprises that offer students the practical edge to career entry. Yanco campus is situated in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area with access to NSW DPI research, extension staff and the expansive resources and sites for training purposes.
Tocal College has residential facilities for fulltime youth students, online courses, and regional facilities for other courses across the state. Students gain broad experience and farm skills across enterprises that include farm machinery, beef cattle, Australian stock horses, dairy cows, sheep for prime lamb and wool production, and poultry sheds producing free range eggs. Tocal College is embedded in rural business industries and delivers quality nationally accredited training under its RTO registration.
