The University of Queensland (UQ) is a public research university primarily located in Queensland’s capital city, Brisbane, Australia. Founded in 1909 by the state parliament, UQ is Australia’s fifth oldest university and is colloquially known as a sandstone university.

To prepare students with university life, the UQ offers orientations and briefings. English language support, international student activities and mentoring programs are also offered. Undergraduate, postgraduate and research by higher degree scholarships are available in different areas of study so students can choose which best suits them. UQ awards these scholarships based on academic merit, sports involvement, economic status and extracurricular activities.
The university also offers scholarships for international students who want to study undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at UQ. Most international scholarships are given to students on the basis of academic performance.
